The Journey Begins: Coimbatore to Mysuru

We set off from Coimbatore, heading toward Mysuru via Mettupalayam and the beautiful Sathyamangalam Forest. This route is famous for its hairpin bends, offering panoramic views of lush greenery as you drive through the cool, misty air. The Sathyamangalam Forest is a highlight of the journey, home to rich wildlife, thick foliage, and winding mountain roads that make the drive exciting and adventurous.

Stay at Ginger Hotel, Mysuru

Once we reached Mysuru, we checked into   Ginger Hotel  , a comfortable and decently priced accommodation perfect for travelers looking for a relaxed stay. The rooms were clean, the staff courteous, and the location ideal for exploring Mysuru's major attractions.

Day 1: Dhonne Biriyani & Chamundi Hills

Our Mysuru experience kicked off with a feast of the famous   Mysuru special Dhonne Biriyani  , known for its fragrant rice and succulent meat, served on a banana leaf. It was the perfect introduction to the city’s rich culinary heritage.

In the evening, we visited   Chamundi Hills  , a must-see for anyone coming to Mysuru. The temple at the hilltop, dedicated to Goddess Chamundeshwari, offers not only spiritual vibes but also breathtaking views of the city below.

Mysore Palace: Night Light Show

As night fell, we headed to the   Mysore Palace   for its renowned night light show. The palace, adorned with thousands of lights, glowed magnificently, making it a surreal experience. Walking around the illuminated palace was like stepping into a fairy tale, a sight that leaves you in awe of its regal grandeur.

Day 2: Mangalore Bun & Payana Car Museum

The next morning, we indulged in another local treat, the delicious   Mangalore Bun —a sweet, fluffy bread that pairs perfectly with coconut chutney and sambar. After a filling breakfast, we visited the Payana Car Museum , which houses an impressive collection of vintage cars and gives you a glimpse into the evolution of automobiles over the decades.

Return Journey: Mysuru to Coimbatore

On our return journey to Coimbatore, we took the   Gundlupet-Sathyamangalam Forest   route. This stretch, especially near Gundlupet, was a feast for the eyes, with vast fields of  Jamanthi flowers and sunflower farms   blooming under the clear skies. The bright yellows and oranges of the flowers stretched out endlessly, creating a vibrant patchwork of color. It’s worth stopping to take in the beauty, click a few pictures, and appreciate the simple yet striking charm of these farms.

The drive back through the forested Sathyamangalam hills was just as thrilling, with its wildlife and natural beauty, making it the perfect end to a memorable trip.
